Colian Holding SA (since 2014)  (until 2011 Dawn Holding) - the group of companies of the food industry controlled by John Kolańskiego   ; headquarters of the parent company is Opatówek near Kalisz .
It specializes in the production, distribution and sale of high-quality foodstuffs. It includes, among others, Company: Colian sp. z oo, a manufacturer of branded food and Colian Logistic sp. z oo., engaged in the storage and distribution of products. The Group operates within three strategic business divisions: confectionery, culinary (spices, nuts and dried fruit) and drinks, as well as logistics support them. It offers an extensive portfolio of well-known products under well-known branded Goplana, Solidarity, Dawn, Grześki, Family, Jeżyki, Akuku !, Hellena, Appetita and Siesta.
The Group has production facilities in Bydgoszcz, Kalisz, Opatowek, Poznan, Lublin and Wykroty. Warsaw is the Commercial Office. More than 13 per cent. domestic production is exported to over 60 countries around the world. Group reaches approx. 900 million of sales. It employs approx. 2 000 people.

The Colian Holding SA (earlier Colian SA) group includes the following companies: Colian (earlier Jutrzenka Colian) and Colian Logistic. Their combined market power developed over the years has allowed the group to gain a strong position on the Polish market. The companies' operations are focused on the production and distribution of food products within the three strategic business divisions of confectionery, culinary products (seasoning products and nuts and dried fruit) and beverages.
Colian sp. z o.o. operates within the following three business divisions: confectionery, culinary products (seasoning products, nuts and dried fruit) and beverages. Its portfolio consists of well-known and popular brands. These include Goplana, Solidarność, Jutrzenka, Grześki, Familijne, Jeżyki, Akuku!, Appetita, Siesta and Hellena. These brands have been constantly strengthening their market position successfully gaining high rankings in their respective product categories. Colian consistently pursues a strategy of expansion into foreign markets.
Colian Logistic sp. z o.o. manages the logistics operations of the whole group. A modern centre in the town of Kostrzyn including a warehouse with a total area of about 12,500 m2 is used to arrange transportation, store food products and also package and distribute products to customers. Colian Logistic is operated according to the highest standards. This is possible thanks to our innovative technical solutions and constant desire to improve the efficiency and quality of operation in the area of logistics. The Colian Group has its headquarters in Opatówek near the city of Kalisz, Poland. One of its manufacturing facilities is also located there. The other factories are in Bydgoszcz, Poznań, Lublin, Kalisz and Wykroty.
The Colian Group opened a Commercial Office in Warsaw. The new location is at ul. Jutrzenki 94, near the Łopuszańska/Al. Jerozolimskie junction. The office will host the marketing team and its support.
In 1990, Jan Kolański sets up a family company named Ziołopex.
The company is an independent producer of organic herbs and spices intended for the domestic market. Thanks to its policy of direct imports from the Far and Middle East, Africa and South and Central America the company is able to achieve rapid development. In 1996, the company introduces its own range of seasoning mixes. In 2002, a modern production facility is built in Wykroty. A year later, Appetita, a brand of single ingredient spices and herbs and seasoning mixes, is launched on the market.
At the end of 2003 and at the beginning of 2004 Jan Kolański acquires a majority stake in Jutrzenka SA and is appointed Chairman of the company's management board. Prior to that, he had been a member of its supervisory board since 2001.
The origins of the company date back to 1918, when Fabryka Cukrów i Czekolady Lukullus was founded. The company produced couverture and chocolate products. The company built a chain of its own outlet stores in the region of Pomerania and employed 250 workers. In 1922, Fabryka Braci Tysler was founded where about 70 people were employed to make confectionery and chocolate products. In 1945, the war-damaged factories were nationalized. The factory in Warmiński Street in Bydgoszcz is named Jutrzenka. In 1949, the two factories are combined into one company and begin to operate as Pomorskie Zjednoczone Fabryki Cukrów i Czekolady. In 1951, its name is changed to Zakłady Przemysłu Cukierniczego Jutrzenka. After more than 40 years in business, in 1993 the company is transformed into an employee-owned company under the name of Przedsiębiorstwo Cukiernicze Jutrzenka SA. In 1994 Jutrzenka SA's shares are allowed to be traded publicly. A year later they are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In 2004, Bydgoszcz based Jutrzenka SA buys the Goplana brand and a factory in Poznan from the Nestle Polska concern.
Goplana's association with the city of Poznan dates back to 1912, when the brothers Janusz and Wieslaw Wilkoński set up Fabryka Czekolady i Kakao Gonda. A year later, the company changed its name to Poznanska Fabryka Czekolady Goplana. The company was located in Warszawska Street in Poznan. The factory employed 30 workers. The end of 1920 and the beginning of 1921 mark a new chapter in the history of the brand. A new company is set up under the name of Goplana Poznańska Fabryka Czekolady, Towarzystwo Akcyjne, in Wawrzyńca Street in Poznań. The company made chocolate and chocolate products. By 1928 the assortment range of products offered by the company had been extended with sweets including drops, caramels and toffee sweets. Three years later, the company starts making biscuits, sponge fingers, gingerbread and long shelf-life bread. From 1934 Goplana starts to sell dragees. The first export order was placed with the company in 1956 when 187 tons of biscuits were shipped to Sudan in Africa. A decade later the company starts to manufacture cream-filled chocolate and in 1971 the range of Golplana products includes more than 150 kinds of sweets. In 1994 Goplana was acquired by Nestle Polska.
In 2005 Kaliszanka is taken over by Ziołopex. Grześki, its key brand of popular impulse purchase wafer biscuits, gains a strong position in the company's portfolio.
It is the oldest factory in the group. In 1892, Kazimierz Mystkowski founded Parowa Fabryka Pierników i Biszkoptów in Kalisz. In 1909 he received a gold medal award for his products. In the interwar period the factory began to export part of its production abroad. After World War II its name was changed to Fabryka Pieczywa Cukierniczego Kaliszanka. In 1948, the company is nationalized. In 1992 the company was transformed into an employee-owned limited liability company.
In 2007 Hellena is acquired by Bydgoszcz-based Jutrzenka SA. The company gets a strong beverage division and bottles bearing the green logo of Hellena return with success to shops.
Hellena's origins date back to 1991, when Przedsiębiorstwo Produkcyjne Hellena SA, making juices and soft drinks, was founded. In the 1990's, when PET bottles started to displace glass packaging across Europe, Hellena's carbonated drinks were among the first Polish drinks sold in PET bottles on the domestic market. Thanks to its focus on product quality the company quickly became a favourite among consumers and traders. 1997 marks the beginning of the construction of a new factory in Opatówek, which is still one of the largest and most modern factories not only in Poland. Its very wide range of products included carbonated and non-carbonated drinks, juices and mineral water. Hellena's great success was to restore the home market tradition of orangeade and lemonade production. Its brand products were bought by people in the United States and Canada and exports to those countries regularly increased. In 2005, due to financial problems the company filed for bankruptcy. Since 2007, when the company was acquired by Jutrzenka, Polish people once again have been to enjoy the taste of Hellena drinks.

In 2008, the operations of the capital group were consolidated around the stock exchange listed company. Jutrzenka SA changes its name to Jutrzenka Holding SA z siedzibą w Opatówku. Jutrzenka Colian sp. z o.o. is set up. It is one of the largest food companies in Poland with such brands as Jeżyki, Familijne, Akuku!, Mella, Goplana, Grześki, Appetita, Hellena and Siesta with operations concentrated in its three divisions of confectionery, culinary products and beverages.
In 2009 a logistics centre was launched in Kostrzyn. Colian Logistic is a company specializing in the storage and distribution of products manufactured by the Group.
The company was established in response to the growing needs of the Group. Because of the group's rapid development the role of logistics increased. Its management of procurement, warehousing, manufacturing flows and distribution at multiple sites required specialized skills. The market was changing with increasing customer demands and new forms of logistics operations. Colian Logistics is tasked with handling such operations as transport and shipment, warehousing, packaging, order picking, arranging supplies to a distribution warehouse, distribution of goods to customers, customer service (reception of orders and issuing of invoices), handling returns and complaints and returnable packaging management.
In 2011, the company's name was changed from Jutrzenka Holding SA to Colian SA.

Firma Cukiernicza Solidarność was founded on 4 June 1952. The early 1960's mark the launch of the company's flagship product Śliwka Nałęczowska w Czekoladzie, which is still sold and enjoys popularity among consumers. In 1994, Złoty Orzech was launched. The hazelnut and cream-filled chocolates have been the company's most awarded product.
Currently the Colian Group consists of the following companies: Colian sp. z o.o. and Colian Logistic sp. z o.o. Its headquarters are in Opatówek near the city of Kalisz in the Province of Wielkopolska.
